Fenton Township to Hold a Visioning Session for Master Plan Update

On Monday, November 13, 2017 at 7:00 p.m., Fenton Township will hold a community visioning session as a part of the Master Plan update in the lower level meeting room at the Fenton Township Civic Community Center. All are invited to come and participate.
A comprehensive approach to planning for the Township relies on the residents' perspectives. In order to form goals that strive to reach a long-term vision, the community must first work to build consensus on what they vision looks like. In small groups with interactive exercises facilitated by planners, residents will have the opportunity to discuss and express to Township leadership how they wish to see their vision for Fenton Township's future implemented. The results weigh heavily on how the goals, objectives, and strategies are formed that will guide the Township growth and development for years to come.

Please join and share your thoughts on how make Fenton Township an even better place to live.

For any questions or concerns about the visioning session, please contact Michelle Bennett (mbennett@bria2.com).

SLPR commits as Signature Authority for the LAFF Pathway project!! Thanks, at least in part, to a good LAFF Pathway public showing SLPR voted unanimously (only Sean Shumaker, Fenton Tnsp, not in attendance) to become signature authority on the project. Check ABC12 for the story (when available).

Fenton Township Seeks Community Input for the Master Plan Update

Fenton Township is embarking on a new Master Plan, and community input is pivotal to the success of this multi-month process. To hear your insight on the Township's strengths and areas for improvement, a survey has been posted on the project website:
https://www.fentontownshipmasterplan.org/online-survey
Please visit the link and tell us what you think! The survey will be open until end of day October 1st. Your responses are greatly appreciated.
The Master Plan is comprehensive in scope and will research major topics such as demographics and housing, land use, natural features, community facilities and services, open space, transportation, and economic development. In addition to formal analysis, a Master Plan hinges on its residents' vision for the Township's future. The plan uses community feedback to craft goals and objectives and to outline action strategies that guide the Township growth and development in accordance with its values.
Community engagement sessions are coming to Fenton Township this fall, so please stay tuned! For any questions or concerns about the survey, or the master planning process, please contact Michelle Bennett of Beckett & Raeder at 734-239-6614 or mbennett@bria2.com.

Thanks to all who came to support of LAFF Pathway

Five year parks plan

City of Fenton public review of their proposed park and recreation master plan is now available for review and comment. This is a very important part of the process and a requirement of the state MDNR. The public input is needed so that the plan satisfies the needs and wants of the citizens. If you are interested in non-motorized, more parks, kayaking, park improvements or other park related items you should consider review and comment on this plan as it is the basis for development for the next five years and also will be the tool to gain grant funding for these park developments. The plan is available for review at the city office and at the Fenton Branch Library. There will be two public meetings, dates not yet available.
