the Paddle & Pedal Festival is a fundraising event to extend the local non-motorized LAFF pathway that will connect the communities of Linden, Argentine Township, Fenton and Fenton Township!

Join us for a Family-Friendly Day of Fun in downtown Linden!  Admission is FREE to enjoy Live Entertainment, Vendors, a Kids Zone, Food Trucks, Workshops, Activities, and Raffle Prize Baskets at the Linden Amphitheatre Gazebo and Community Center (VFW Hall).  Be sure to check out our Headliner Band this year... Two-Tone Corduroy!

Participate in the Paddle & Pedal Festival and bring your bike to pedal the completed Phase 1 of the LAFF Pathway and/or bring your kayak and paddle the Shiawassee River! 


When you register, you'll receive a 10-Liter Waterproof Gear Bag and are automatically entered to win 4 Detroit Tigers Tickets & Parking Pass for the game on Tues. Sept. 8!  (winner announced during Two-Tone Corduroy’s performance 6:00-8:00).

  • Early bird registration: $25 if you sign up by May 15! Price is $30 May 16 - June 13
  • Gear bag includes: Route map, sponsor goodies, and more!
  • Pick up your bag: Festival day at the Community Center registration table (10 AM – 8 PM).
  • After the festival: Unclaimed bags can be picked up at the SLPR Community Building in Fenton.
  • Apparel: During the registration process you have the option to order festival apparel

*You do not need to register to attend the festival.

  • Pre-order by MAY 24! Get the size & style you want at the early bird discount $25

Day of Festival $30 limited supply

  • Anyone can order apparel! You are not required to be a registered participant to order the festival shirt.
  • Pick up your shirt: Festival Day at the Community Center registration table (10 AM – 8 PM).
  • After the festival: Unclaimed shirts can be picked up at the Southern Lakes Parks & Rec Community Building in Fenton.
  • All proceeds support extending the LAFF Pathway!

BIKING

  • Route: ~10 miles. Ride at your own pace — this is not a race!
  • Pick up your registration packet: Linden Community Center, 105 Mill St. Includes waterproof gear bag, a route map with written directions & sponsor goodies!
  • Trail etiquette: Helmets recommended. Ride on the right. Pass on the left and alert others with a bell or voice (“On your left”). The trail is shared with walkers, joggers, and other bikers.


KAYAKING

  • Bring your own kayak, or rent one from Shiawassee River Shuttle.
  • Call or text 810-206-2002 or email shiawasseerivershuttle@gmail.com to reserve.
  • Rentals available until 5:00 PM on the event day, but advance booking recommended.  $25
  • Route: Paddle east up the Shiawassee River to Lake Ponemah and back (~4–5 miles, 1.5–2 hours). Turn around anytime.
  • Pick up registration packet: Linden Community Center, 105 Mill St. Includes waterproof gear bag, a route map with written directions & sponsor goodies!


PADDLE & PEDAL ADVENTURE

  • Adventure: Guided kayak tour down the Shiawassee River (Downtown Linden → Hogan Rd) then bike back on the LAFF Pathway.
  • Schedule: (11:00 AM sold out) & 2:00 PM tours (spots available): Festival registration & reservations with Shiawassee River Shuttle required (limited spots available). 
  • Call or text 810-206-2002 or email shiawasseerivershuttle@gmail.com to reserve your spot on the tour
  • $25 adventure kayak rental
  • $15 transport for your own kayak
  • Festival Day: Pick up your registration packet at Linden Community Center, then check in with your bike at the SRS boat launch.  Your bike will be locked up.  Your guide will take you down the river.  When you reach Hogan road, SRS will bring your bike & pick up the kayaks.  Your group & guide will bike back to the festival grounds.
  • Includes: Life vests & bottled water.
  • Suggested items: Water shoes, hat, phone in waterproof bag, sunscreen, snack.
  • Timing: Paddle (~2 hrs), bike return (~1 hr, easy pace).


VENDORS (10 AM – 6 PM)

Browse a variety of vendors featuring health & fitness items, handmade crafts, and unique gifts.


KIDS ZONE

Fun for the little ones! Enjoy a bounce house, face painting, and activities hosted by the Fenton Art Council.


WORKSHOP

Learn basic bike maintenance from trained biking experts, including how to change a bike tire.


RAFFLE PRIZES

  • Tickets available at the information table in the Community Center.
  • Winners announced at 5:30 PM by the DJ at the Gazebo Amphitheatre.
  • Need not be present to win; unclaimed prizes can be picked up at the Southern Lakes Parks & Rec Community Building in Fenton.
